Before you throw anything away

New to the Crew? Read how we walk first.

About you

We count what you picked up and email you the results: items, deposit containers, and what they’re worth. Type it once. This phone remembers it for your next walk.

Where you walked

Tap the button at the start of your walk and again at the finish. If you’re filling this in later, type the places instead.

Your photos

Pick them all at once. Photos stay with the Keep Maine Beautiful team. We never publish them. How we count your finds

Something that needs taking care of but wasn’t safe or right for you to pick up: needles or anything sharp, broken glass, an unknown liquid, anything in water, a full bag someone left, or a dump site with tires, furniture, or debris. Photograph it from where you stand, with location on, and tell us the nearest landmark under What did you see. We send it to whoever owns the spot. See What you leave

Photos we can share optional

Show us what you’re taking care of. A river, a view, a trail, or you and your walking partners out doing it. These are the photos we post on our website and social media. Photos of your finds stay with our team.

Tell us about it

Your photos tell most of the story. If you want to add anything, tap the microphone on your phone’s keyboard and just talk.

Crew cards optional

Cards to hand to people you meet on your walk. We’ll mail them to you, free.

Rather send an email? Use our walk report email. It opens with the questions filled in, so attach your photos and answer each line.

Beautifully done.

Your walk is in. We’ll look at every photo, and your walk joins your town’s record. Thank you for showing up for Maine.
